When using our M2M SIM cards, we have gained experience in more than 1,000 implemented IoT and M2M projects with both good and bad hardware. We use this expertise to support our customers in choosing the right hardware. For fast, stable and secure operation, we offer you pre-configured Teltonika brand routers with which you can easily bring your devices online - plug & play.
We have learned a lot from previous projects and have helped our customers not only with hardware selection, but also with the correct setup of their M2M hardware. This not only avoids disruptions in wireless communication, but also saves nerves, time and costs. With the preconfigured routers from WhereverSIM, you receive tried-and-tested M2M routers - completely preconfigured and ready for immediate use.

A roaming SIM connects your router to the mobile networks of several network operators using just one SIM card. This already ensures a high degree of redundancy and reliability if the reception of individual network providers fluctuates.
In addition, the RUT956 and the RUTX12 each have two SIM card slots. If, for example, one SIM card fails on the RUT956, the router can switch to the second SIM. The RUTX12 also has two modems installed so that there is not even any downtime when changing the SIM used. For this highly redundant use case, we offer two different M2M SIM cards that are operated on 100% separate infrastructure in geographically distant data centers.
Particularly in critical application areas such as security technology and medical devices, it is necessary to ensure a stable and uninterrupted connection. While switching from one SIM card to the other takes only a few seconds with the RUT956, depending on the environmental conditions, this can be reduced to a few milliseconds by operating parallel modems in the RUTX12. This means that even real-time applications can be maintained with virtually no noticeable impact if the roaming infrastructure of a SIM fails.
With the IoT SIM cards from WhereverSIM, the M2M router can connect to more than 500 available networks in over 189 countries. In Germany, for example, all 3 mobile networks - Vodafone, Telekom and O2 - are available, while the networks of neighboring countries can also be used in border regions.
Via national roaming, our SIM cards are able to use the mobile networks of different providers. In border regions, the networks of neighboring countries can also be used.

No hidden costs: The inserted M2M SIM card is immediately ready for use, the data tariff will only be activated on first use.
With the web portal, you always have an overview of the SIM cards and data used. Thanks to the flexible tariffs, the M2M SIM cards can be paused or deactivated at any time via the portal to save costs. The statistics enable ideal monitoring for controlling the data and tariffs.
Alerts and automated rules can be used and individually set up to protect against (accidentally) excessive data consumption.
We are convinced of our performance and our services, and we measure ourselves by this. The entire contract and each individual SIM card can be canceled on a monthly basis and therefore have no minimum term. There are no monthly charges until the SIM cards are activated. The SIM cards can be flexibly activated/deactivated or temporarily paused at any time.
The flexible tariff design and individual data volume make our tariffs the right choice for IoT and M2M projects of companies of all sizes and industries.

For easy and secure remote access, we offer an OpenVPN service operated by us. With this, your service technicians can easily access the routers and the devices behind them. We take over the configuration and operation of the OpenVPN service, so that your employees only need to get a user name and password for the OpenVPN access from us and can start right away.

Industrial routers are designed for high availability. Nevertheless, like with all technical systems, it can happen that the data connection from the router no longer works.
In combination with an M2M SIM card from WhereverSIM, Teltonika's routers offer several options for rectifying the problem remotely. If the worst comes to the worst, this saves trips and service hours to troubleshoot the end devices and provides valuable information in advance about what type of fault could be present.
If the router has no longer access the Internet, it recognizes the problem itself using the "Ping Reboot" feature and restarts the connection.
If the fault does not resolve itself, your service technicians can easily and securely access the devices via an OpenVPN service provided by WhereverSIM to identify the problem.
If access via OpenVPN is no longer possible, the router can be restarted remotely with SMS commands or report back current status information.

Frequently asked questions about M2M routers, IoT hardware and M2M SIM cards
In general, our IoT SIM cards work in any router. However, commercially available routers are usually not designed for professional use and may cause malfunctions or downtime, resulting in unnecessary costs.
For fast, stable and, above all, secure operation, we recommend M2M routers optimized for commercial and industrial use. With our PreConfig package, for example, we offer you pre-configured M2M routers with which you can easily bring your devices online - plug & play.
If you need further assistance in selecting the right hardware, our M2M experts will be happy to help.
No. By default, devices that connect to the internet via our M2M SIM cards are not directly accessible from the internet.
The data connection is established using private IP addresses and an additional network technology (carrier-grade NAT) that blocks incoming connections from outside the network. As a result, routers and connected devices are protected by default against unauthorized access attempts.
If you need remote access to your devices, there are various solutions available—such as VPN connections or custom network configurations with static IP addresses. We would be happy to advise you on selecting the right solution for your specific needs.
By default, devices connected via our M2M SIM cards cannot communicate directly with one another. This is for security purposes and prevents unwanted connections between devices.
For use cases that require direct data exchange, we offer suitable network solutions. Through a private APN or our shared APN “wsim.link,” devices within a closed network can communicate with one another and exchange data securely.
We would be happy to work with you to determine which solution is best suited for your specific application.
No. In addition to Teltonika, we also offer routers and gateways from other established manufacturers. This allows us to select the right hardware for a variety of requirements and applications—from simple remote applications to complex IoT projects.
Together, we'll find the solution that best suits your specific application, both technically and economically. We'd be happy to advise you on suitable routers, gateways, and connectivity solutions.
