Question 1

Can I set a limit for data consumption? And what happens when the set data limit is used up?

Yes, you can set a data limit (e.g., 500 MB per SIM card per month) for your M2M SIM cards in your personal customer portal. You can do this for individual SIM cards or for multiple SIM cards at once. To do so, you can group SIM cards and set a different data limit for each group.

Once a set data limit has been used up, we block data traffic for that SIM card until the start of the next month. You’ll also receive a notification in the portal when the limit is reached. Through the portal, you can independently suspend, increase, or reduce the limit for the SIM cards, and—once the limit is reached—immediately activate new data volume if you don’t want the device to remain offline until the end of the month.

How long is the contract period? Are SIMs blocked during inactivity?

Our M2M plans typically M2M plans a one-month term and are automatically renewed for another month as long as you have active SIM cards from us in use. You are generally free to decide when a SIM card is activated or deactivated. You will not be charged until the SIM card is activated. If an M2M SIM is deactivated during a given month, you will no longer be charged for it starting the following month.

SIM cards that are not needed immediately can be stored in an inactive state for as long as you like without incurring any fees. We do not automatically activate or deactivate them.

Is it possible to deactivate or pause individual SIMs? Does it cost anything?

Yes, that’s possible. With all of our M2M plans, you can pause individual, multiple, or even all of the SIM cards you’re using at any time, free of charge, and you’ll no longer be charged a monthly fee starting the next calendar month. Reactivating the SIM card(s) is also free of charge. You can pause the SIM cards yourself through our online portal.

What tariff models does WhereverSIM offer? And what is data pooling?

We offer our corporate customers a variety of pricing plans tailored to the diverse needs of IoT projects. In addition to traditional M2M plans such as Pay-As-You-Go and the dynamic data pool, we also offer a unique Flex plan. For large projects, we also offer a prepaid option upon request, where payment is made in advance for each SIM card for several years. Data pooling means that all activated SIM cards share a common data allowance. With this plan, it’s not the usage of a single SIM card that counts, but rather the combined usage of all active SIM cards. The advantage of this is that fluctuations in usage among individual SIM cards are balanced out, and additional costs are incurred only if the total data pool is exceeded. There is no data throttling, ensuring that IoT devices continue to have a stable connection. With the dynamic data pool, the data pool increases with each additional active SIM card. In our special Flex plan, active M2M SIM cards are automatically assigned to the appropriate plan based on their individual data usage.

How long are the delivery times?

We typically ship our M2M SIM cards one business day after receiving your order; this also applies to trial SIM cards. At that time, you will also gain access to the customer portal.

Setting up an IPsec VPN tunnel can take up to 4 weeks.

If you need faster delivery, just let us know. We can also deliver larger quantities on short notice via express shipping if needed.

Can I purchase the SIM card as a private person?

No, our SIM cards are intended exclusively for use by businesses. We do not sell them to private individuals, whether as individual SIM cards or in bulk. The M2M SIMs, however, are suitable for businesses of all sizes and across all industries.

Is there a minimum purchase quantity or contract term?

Accepted Answer

No. You can start with just a few M2M SIM cards and expand your inventory at any time. Thanks to our inventory, we can usually deliver additional SIM cards within a few business days. This allows you to remain flexible even in the event of rapid growth.
