What is special about 5G?

The 4G standard (LTE) alone was able to reduce response times from 100 to 30 milliseconds compared to 3G-UMTS. 5G represents another leap forward: With a latency of just one millisecond, the new mobile communications standard enables near-real-time data transmission, thereby significantly reducing delays. This makes 5G potentially the key to the widespread use of AR and VR applications in the future. The low latency allows users to interact with virtually no delay, thereby significantly improving the user experience.
